  • Are greenpeace idiots?

BBC News - Greenpeace protesters climbing up The Shard in London

So 6 people have decided to climb the Shard. By doing this they aim to stop shell drilling in the attic or at least 'make them think twice about it'

So shell who's making millions of pounds profit is going to look at some idiots climbing the shard and decide that maybe they should not drill there.

Also what argument do they have for shell to not drill there.

Well it ruins sea life and their habitats by installing a huge oil rig and any spills obviously contaminate a gargantuan area of the ocean killing avian animals as well as marine life

By the way it doesn't bother me but I believe the above is probably why though

In my eyes, the best way to stop them is to help promote 'green' energy and raise money to invest in renewables so that we aren't so dependant on oil/gas/coal. But its easier for dirty hippies to **** around like this

I would be annoyed if someone was drilling in my attic.

Greenpeace might have ideas about certain things, but their methods are overly intrusive towards other people's lifes and often aggressive.

Best way to stop oil use is hydrogen cars and nuclear power. Not climbing things and putting banners up that no doubt will cost the tax payer to remove.

Were you discussing the issue before today?

                Are you now?

They have done what they wanted to do.

Have I got the power to stop it - no
Has it made me want to stop it - no
Has it given me a greater hatred of greenpeace - yes

I don't think they have achieved the goals they have set out.

But if it is something the media is covering and the general population is hearing about, it brings greater coverage to the issue, pushing it right into the public

Can't say i like them or the things they do, but it's done its job.

Regardless of their message, that's still no excuse to not wash the smelly tramps.

But no I don't think anyone listens to them. They need to get a wash and a job, and actually do something productive. ****ing hippies.

It does give the issue publicity, which is ultimately their aim. However people then associate their good cause with them causing a nuisance, and so don't take it seriously.

Well they won't accept that idea either. People hear the work Nuclear, and they think; 'bombs' and 'radioactive fish' and panic.
