Alanco, i have replied to your PM already, in a civilized manner, in private. I would have expected a 48yr old to be a little better mannered and be able to contain his toys within his pram for a little longer than you're dispalying now.

In 99% of cases, when infractions are issued, the user will apologise and take it on the chin, and in a number of cases we reverse the infractions due to the level of maturity dispalyed. You have chosen the other path. The defensive to the point of being agressive path.

You aren't special, you're not the first to recieve an infraction, and you wont be the last.

If you want to sweep it under the rug and carry on as normal then we are very willing to do so, and would have done until you made this thread publically. Infractions are not viewable by other members, only staff, so you needn't ahve said anythign and no one would ever have known.

Also, for reference, "lol" is an abbreviation, and is (most of the time) acceptable on a form. "wot" however is not a word... It IS an abbreviation, but I feel you weren't trying to type "wide open throttle"

          Regards,
          Dave.

On a serious note, across the 2 forums we've always had these rules in place, someone kicks off usually once every 6 months or so. That person will then usually leave. We have the rules in place so we attract decent people and the forum doesn't look like an msn messenger conversation. I believe it is down to the rules we have and the people that the forum attracts, that I've never met a bad person from the forum

              dave...

in a polite maner, i hear you and as a member have to abide by what you say... i dont agree with you as i feel you are behind the times, but as you say its your forum. if you want to stop it becoming an executive club and encourage newer "younger" members you may like to look at this rule or your membership may dwindle

                samo,

your inference is that decent people dont text speak, you can poke fun @ me in english but text speak is wrong - you may not like this thread but its only a discussion nothing more

i thought we had free speech in this contry !

                        Hi Alanco,

Whilst I can appreciate your viewpoint and understand everyone is entitiled to an opinion. I am firm in the belief that we are doing quite well. We had nearly 60 new user registrations in the last month alone, and this number grows month on month. We are essentially a brand new forum, and have built up our google rank and page relevance extensively in the last 10-12months we have existed. We currently have over 600 registered members.

                        Dave.

Well we don't have free speech in this country, but if we did that's no guarantee you'll find it on a private forum.

Dave please get off your wheelchair so that we can make this place better for young illiterate teens so we can hear more about their bodged in red tops and undeclared mods.

I didn't say that decent people don't use text talk or that using text talk makes you a non savory character, but if the boot fits, lace it up and strut around. As I said we've had this thread many times over the years, we've not changed and it hasn't deterred anyone worth keeping over the years. Feel free to keep insisting we're wrong. Quite frankly I don't give a damn

                              To put it bluntly.

We want you to stay on the forum, however if text talk isn't cracked down on, it becomes more and more common, and reads like a text message.

The rule isn't going to change unfortunately. So either,

Try to avoid text talk and stay (like we'd prefer)
                              Or leave
