  • Best broadband deal

Anyone got any ideas for the best or atleast a decent broadband deal? I have looked around on the net and seen so many different offers but don't want to pay loads

All I really want is unlimited downloads not bothered by getting many or any tv channels tbh (don't watch much tv)

I have looked at plusnet as I've been with them before and they was great but just want to see if there are any better deals, also been with sky and virgin but those 2 seem expensive

    Anyone got any recommendations?
    Thanks

Hmmm, what will you be doing in the connection? Gaming, downloading/streaming films or just browsing?

Cable based broadband as opposed to phone line. It depends on your area, some will say Virgin are crap but at least locally for me. They are wrong.

Cable/fiber optic internet has been better for years. But if your a light user it won't matter.

I on a medium package but a three in one bundle with virgin and get 30mb. Best sky could do due to local exchange and obviously over selling was a 2mb line.

You can save a bundle with either company if you want phone tv and broadband. BT has got access to cable recently and has been doing crazy things with sports channels and I'm a bit outdated. I've had very good fast interning for 8years with a days downtime so I'm very happy with NTL/Virgin cable.

But it boils down to Whats available in your area and what you want. They are other companies to consider and since most of us all have good deals with various suppliers be a lot out there to compare.

Homepage | SamKnows should be able to tell you Whats available in area, e.g. adsl and dsl , LLU but its more info then you may need.
If you want an average broadband then you can probably just go anywhere that offers you a cheap price. Check a load of ISPs websites check your line or postcode there.

                Virgin
                Sky
                BT
                Are main ones

You've looked at most already dude, if you just want no BS broadband just pickup cheapest if that's what your after.

It's a weird one though as they want to sell you everything as a bundle now lol.

Back when I wanted just internet and no other junk, I had to get NTL/virgin cable as that's only place you could. Usually BT and phone line providers seem cheaper as they Dont include line rental on offer price and you needed a land line to get it.

I know Tom, done this to you twice making your question your dirty mind lol.

They seem like good deals but you have to factor in the line rental. Isn't like rental on cable but you usually save per product if you buy all three. I pay about 50 a month for 30mb, M+ TV with TiVo and landline I never use. Without land line it would only be 2quid cheaper. That is not a cheap package or a deal either and I need to switch mine up soon.

Broadband alone can be around 30-40 on high end packages and bundles bring it down. They usually have cheaper for first few month deals.

You after just BB? Or a package since they usually not much more.
