I can see why Lee asked though.

A fact - if you work with tools and metal then at some point something will end up in your eye. Since my dad lost use of an eye after some muppet banged two hammers together and a piece of hardened steel went through his eye I've always been a bit fussy about eye protection.

It paid off yesterday when a stubborn bolt literally exploded - the piece that hit my visor took a gouge out of it, without the visor I'd have had a nasty injury.

So make it a fact always to wear eye protection even for the simplest of jobs.

I never used to when i was younger but when i learned about brittle metals and what happens when they explode, i wear safety goggles all the time now with that stuff. My uncle done it with a chisel that had a mushroomed head on it. Fragment came off and hit his eye, and eye had to be removed.

Another fact. Putting the toilet seat down, before you flush it is more hygienic

Even if you don't get any splash back from water or other fluids, an invisible cloud of bacteria is ejected almost like a mushroom cloud. It lands on everything around the toilet area as well.
Under testing, fecal matter (bits of ****) has been found on toothbrushes and similar when placed too near a toilet that people flush without closing the lid.

It was also found that toothbrushes which weren't in the bathroom also contained fecal matter, apparently it's everywhere
