[Traitor Car] Ford Focus - Dirty diesel

About time I started a project for my car.

I never intended to keep this for long, was a cheap-ish diesel to get to work. Had it a year now and decided to do something with it.

So here it is:




These are the 16's it's currently sitting on, it's screaming out for much larger wheels.


Not many photos, I know. I was never going to keep it so I never bothered with pics.

Plans (not in any order):

Clean and polish
Colour code
Focus CC front bumper
Mondeo titanuim/ST200 wheels
lower 30mm all round
carbon a few interior bits
braided brake hoses

First bit done on the weekend:

Ciggy lighter and pocket liner remover from in front of the gearstick


Replaced with lidded pouch




I'll be getting some 3M di-noc to cover the HU surround, pouch lid, gearstick surround and the steering wheel inserts, as well as making a hole in the back of the pocket in order to relocate the MP3 socket from the glovebox.

Started pulling blanks out, found cables there ready to go for heated windscreen and heated seats. Found one without any plugs, so used that:


Loads of plastic **** on the back of the plug which needed removing for the socket to fit in:

Finished off with a stanley knife and all fitted back:


Next up: Try some plasti-dip on interior bits.

Will be purchasing -30mm springs after trax. Still on the lookout for some 18" ford wheels that I like.

Car went into limp home mode wednesday, Got the error codes read yesterday, showing up as glow plug control unit. Ordering new relays CTS and glowplugs to hopefully sort i out over the weekend.

Might happen at some time, I'm going to do cosmetic shizzle first, then see if i'm bored and want another car, or do something with this.

Boring update time. Had a leak on the tailgate for a while. Water was coming down the bolts holding the spoiler in place. Whacked a load of silicone in there to see if that work. Also found that the washer pipe is rubbing against the paintwork in the hinge area of the bootlid. Need some of that clear stonechip protection film to pit behind it to stop it getting any worse.


Forgot to do my tyres Friday. Booked in for Monday now. Yay!

The 1.8 in this is good for 150 max with an exhaust intercooler and remap. They will get done, but my money currently goes on mortgage and childcare, which leaves me with very little to modify.

By the time I'll have enough extra income to do anything, I'll probably be looking at a new car.

Unless I decide to try and fit a mondeo sttdci engine in there...

I wouldn't, 155 standard good for 200 max. It's a good motorway cruiser engine but it's not a performance engine.

There isn't much else to do with diesel Fords. I'll probably end up changing. Wouldn't have another ford either, not my cup of tea
