  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] the arizona project...

this is my sons first car and kinda our project, corsa b 5 door arizona 1.2 in silver, 3 prev owners and only 72k miles, was sat for 2.5 yr's with the occasional start up and run up and down the drive, after a quick inspection it was on with the jump leads and it started on 2nd turn of the key with no rattles, pops, bangs or squeel's,

it only required a bit of work for the mot, this was a bit of welding to the sill area, 4 tyres, handbrake cable and wheel bearing adjustment, it's also had a full engine service, gearbox oil changed, brakes stripped and cleaned, lowered 40mm on apex springs and fresh fuel, fingers crossed it will be mot'd sometime soon and then it's up onto the drive ready for the next stage, stage 2 is cambelt & waterpump a damn good wash and hoover followed by a bit of prep of panels that are in need of attention due to weathering/paint damage...

once they are done it's tax n insure time and start driving it, the mods are waiting till after this...

pics are doing it a huge favour tbh mate, all paint work is either flat or lacquer peel in places, roof has a touch up pen repair on it the size of my hand, tailgate is a right mess and of lacquer peel an what can only be described as like sticker removal marks all over it.....

Plan is to keep it oem as poss, add a few irmscher bits, once I get to give it a good wash I will decide what is what then, new bumpers are to be fitted as they are in the shed waiting, just can't make my mind up what route to go as too much modding is going to be expensive to insure!!!!

Have the newer front and rear bumper with a front irmscher lip (brought from sam Sri) keeping an eye out for tailgate spoiler and exhaust but these are in the near future and not in any rush for them....

Welding done, car on drive, bodywork washed down, wheels cleaned, sanded and painted gloss black, all plastics treated with boiled linseed oil and look soooo different after 1 going over, hoovered out, tyres dressed, airbox cleaned out and drilled a few holes for extra drainage, engine bay cleaned up a little, car looks so much better it's unreal, MOT tomorrow and after that it's tax time, then time to play.....

Very clean! I really should try the linsead oil trick! Did you just heat it up in a pan and apply it hot?

Car failed MOT today on emissions, new lambda sensor ordered also new rack ends and number plates, needs a bit more welding sorting out but only down as an advisory as corrosion....

ah well, should pass tomorrow when lambda fitted so will be back home and get it ready for extra metalwork...
