  • [Corsa D 2006-2014] #035 chilli orange 5 door limited edition..

#035 chilli orange 5 door LE

better get one of these started i guess...

car as we picked it up.

poxy rain has put a damper on anything externally so far other than a quick wash, rear debadge and silvatec rear indicator lamps.

pipercross panel filter has got to go back and be swapped for right one

interior bit's done so far are...

drivers side sunglasses holder (+ one on order for pass side)

    genuine vx matts

    domed dash badge

    custom tax disk holder

    genuine GM false boot floor

full size spare wheel and tool kit.

debadged, smd numberplate lamp's and silvatecs

    domed dash badge

    tax disk holder

    internal sunstrip

    front tints and sunstrip combo

these tints are not actually as dark as they look in the pic's thery are a shade lighter than factory but angle makes them look too dark, and yes in know they are illegal but the veccy has had them on for 5 yrs with no hastle from the fuzz or at MOT time

    a few more bit's done.

eventualy caught a break in the weather and finished early enough to do a few bit's today so both sunglasses holder's were fitted, airbox got de-restricted, from this

    to this

has anyone cut the trumpet piece from the airbox lid back at all, i know the maf sensor fit's to the outer of it but surely this is also a bit restrictive too ???

Any way, out with the old, in with the new...

    back together and sticker on

spare wheel sat nicely in the wheel well with temp modified tool holder, bit dissapointed that vx didnt paint the wheel well and lower floor area propperly, even the tie down point's seem to just have been wafted over

gave the car a quick run around the block and didnt feel any massive improvement but pedal felt a little more responsive and as the ecu is a self learning one i expect it to get a bit better over the next few days or so of driving...

    big change today,

as you can see, now have CC grill and fog bit's, major change to the way the car looks...

not the best picture but managed to get a coat of paint on the centre cap griffin's and new reverse sensors this evening, all ready for another coat tomorrow morning then a wet laquering and heat curing session so they can be back on the car tomorrow afternoon....

griffins re-painted and laqured and then fitted back to centre caps...

    fitted back on the car...

then the next mod, i have CC side repeaters on my vectra but i am a bit undecided on the corsa tbh, not sure if they just need a polish up or do i just strip them back and tint them ???

also noticed it looks like someone has had a go at the LE badge as it's got a dent in it and is coming away on the top right hand corner.....may just be the excuse to loose them all together !!!

    will add some more later....

it's been a while since anything happened to the car, i have waiting for some custom bit's to come from a mate but they are taking an age to get done

as i got the chance to get it off the mrs for a few hrs this morn i tried to remove some more stubborn transit wax from the wheel's, cleaned the arches and callipers/drums and a quick hoover, then a good wash and dried after a liberal spraying of QD, windows inside and out and then fitted a new mod, in the form of the sub frame brace upgrade, a 2 min job and wow what a difference it's made to the way the car feels on the road, much more stable and planted....

            anyway a few pic's...

been a long time coming this addition, finally managed to find a spare hour today to fit the rear parking sensor's i brought and painted a good few weeks ago...

bumper off - centre pre-marked positions and drill through with pilot bit - flip bumper over and using hole saw provided with kit drill holes out - fit colour coded sensors - pull cables through grommet into car - refit bumper - connect up live and earth - mount sounder and control box in rear quarter where first aid kit goes - plug sensors in - test...hey presto working and just about an hour to do them, quite pleased tbh...

i decided that the colour coded side repeaters didnt do anything for the car so tinted my other pair yesterday and fitted em about 10 mins ago, just dark enough to be seen without upgrading the lamp and look much better than the CC ones i think, i now cant decide weather to get vxr surrounds and have a play to make them unique or not ????

also removed the LE badge's but am thinking of adding something in there place...

please excuse the car it's filthy and not had chance to give it a decent bath for about 2 week's now...

also decided to take the car back to the tint man and have the sun strip removed and a darker and deeper one fitted, looks much better now and i am happier with it

            ]"]Photo Storage

so this is how the car now stands, just waiting on the custom decals to turn up

            ]"]Photo Storage

eventualy got some of the custom decals made up i wanted but they were too big for what i want, i have since found a local man (now use him all the time) and he has had a play with them all and they will all be ready by the end of the week all being well, and after ordering some new forum ones from here i will get them copied in orange to match and post pic's once all on...

trying to get the mrs to let me change the back box for a remus one and poss the addition of irmscher spring's (both ok'd under vx warranty)

2 less doors and it would be perfect

5 doors look good with the Sri bumpers and no spoiler.

Was going to say tinted side repeaters would look better. Not a huge fan of full debadged boots on the Corsa D though.

tbh i dont know why i did them CC to start of with, tinted is much better,

i was toying of doing the main vx badge black/carbon dipped but then thought nah, i like the cleanliness of it, a few select stickers up the rear window will give it the right look...

i also decided not to go the vxr side repeater surrounds way like all others even with the twist i was thinking of, just nice and clean and another subtle factory look bit to come soon

Just had a bit more of a thorough read through, I like a lot of the little touches you've made. Trying to convince my girlfriend to let me partially debadge hers.

How have you found derestricting the airbox and using the pipercross air filter?

And I really want your black headlights

Oh and can you tell me a bit more about that brace mod please?

The car doesn't get driven hard so I'll give the brace a miss. And if it's not particularly noticeable I'll leave the air filter, especially as it's just had a new one fitted anyway.

I'm really not a fan of the complete boot debadge, I want to remove the side badges but leave the main griffin in the middle. And then also remove the LE badges by the side repeaters.

Any idea on what sort of price those headlights sell for when they do come up? Want to know if it's worth it or whether I should convince Soph to let me try a fly eyes kit instead lol.

And have you considered getting some wind deflectors? Would really suit this.

I added the brace as an uprated part as tbh it doesn't get driven that hard, only when I get to take it for a spin on my own...

i would de-restrict the airbox with the oem paper filter as it will still make a noticeable change.

i think the badge done black would look good but big brash chrome thing just doesn't sit well with the rest of the car, don't like the standard chrome grill either tbh so that's why I changed it for a CC one.

had wind deflectors on the vectra and after a bit I decided I didn't like em that much, suit a 3 door better than a 5 door as rear door ones just look out of place and a bit naff...

headlights are not cheap and if I were you I would go the fli eye kit way, much cheaper alternative and look great, there are sometimes some angel eye ones on German eBay but imho they look cheap n tacky, keep an eye on eBay for cars being broken that's where most folk get em from...
