  • [Traitor Car] JT's Impreza WRX

Had boring cars for quite a while now (the Merc is nice, but dull) and been on the lookout for something more fun and more cost effective. I went through lots of cars, and settled on a Porsche Cayenne, big and powerful, with good handling. I went to see some but god damn they are so ugly.

So I ended up seeing this and really liked it:

    Subaru Impreza WRX (2.5 Turbo)
    Mods:
    Sports cat
    Forge Motorsport dumpvalve
    Japspeed cat back exhaust
Remap (estimated 280-290bhp but never actually been tested, so take that with a pinch of salt)

Not the most practical car in the world, but hopefully I actually enjoy it a bit more. The extra power compared to the Merc is quite nice!

It is scary to drive compared to what I'm used to, slowly getting used to the power, it's extremely addictive for sure! Probably not as much fun as the mx5 though I don't imagine, less sporty

Lust lust, envy envy. My mate used to work in Papua New Guinea and drove a Subaru 4x4 saloon (not a WRX). He used it more than once to tow Toyota Land cruisers out of the mud on jungle tracks, surrounded by Head hunting tribesmen.
Absolutely Bomb proof cars. Maybe not your scene, but shows why they can take a bit of 'breathing on'

But as always only as good as their drivers and tyres. This you tube clip shows what happens if a WRX tries to enter a roundabout at 60 and leave it at 30. Maybe crap tyres and a bit of diesel on a wet road. Enter at 30 leave at 60, easy.

        .

        Enjoy

It's not quite as tidy as it looks in the photos - needs a good detail and machine Polish to really to sort the paintwork out, for its age I think it's alright though!
            In time I'll sort

I'll certainly be avoiding driving like that!

Your Evo did look lovely, and given the choice I would have gone that route - they were a little more than I wanted to spend though (I already had to more than double what I originally planned to spend, didn't fancy doubling again!)

Very nice mate. I'm going the opposite route. My Fabia will be my last fun car and next car will need to be a 107 or C1 or similar.

                        I knew you would, sorry it's not a Fiesta/Focus!

I've had sensible for far too long. The Mercedes is nice, but I'm still fairly young and don't drive many miles so I'm happy to go for a bit of fun!

Took some pics of the cars together, civilised and ASBO

Fitted a new stereo to replace the tape deck it had before, and a USB port inside the arm rest to keep things neat

I'd be tempted to go to Trax if we can get enough to go, not sure about track time though - last thing I need is to smash it up

I might have to look into getting a new intercooler, quite a few fins are bent and it bugs me, the STI has a water spray option so might see if I can get similar for this
