  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] Corsa C20let Build Thread

Hi, I am new to Thecorsa.co.uk so Hi to everyone! I own a C20let Corsa which was actually built by Lee (Administrator) on here a few years back. His build thread is on this site! I thought it would be nice to show Lee how his old car is doing, what I have done to it and what I am about to do to it .
I have included 1 picture of the car for now but will be taking better pictures of the car over the next few days and posting them on this thread with a spec list of the car now and a list of modifications getting done very soon!

He was on AC for a few years but was a quiet user.
I've asked him to come on and update us with it.
Really looking forward to seeing it.

It always was a sleeper Dave, the intercooler was never visible. See below, pic taken a few weeks before I sold it.

Above are a few more pictures of the Corsa C20let. Will take some better ones in the light as it was getting a bit dark so had to use the flash!
I had the Corsa parked up for a while in storage but have had big plans for it to upgrade the power! But now back on the road here is a list of the work I have done so far and the work I am planning on doing!
                    Work carried out so far-

1,Replaced the entire rear Panel of the car with genuine Vauxhall panel (and had sprayed blue)
2,Had spare wheel well welded and sprayed
3,Small amount of welding on front underside of car to remove rust and under-sealed.
(now car is completely rust free and all repairs have been done to a high standard)

4,Replaced both front springs on front FK coilovers, also uprated the springs to 350lb springs, the originals were 300lb springs. This has mad a massive improvement.
5.I had the tracking and camber set up after changing the springs as it was along way out. Now handling is sharp.
6.Have fitted 15" speedline alloys to the car with Toyo tyres all round.
7.Replaced cv boots on passenger side of car.
8.Replaced any brake lines that needed replacing.
9.Gave the rear brakes a complete overhall. Replaced every clip and part and painted drums blue to match the car.
                    10.Replaced all the exhaust rubbers.
11.Changed the oil and filter using Valvoline 10/40 oil, the engine runs smooth and is very quiet.
12.Replaced the induction air filter for a new one.
13.Replaced the battery for a slightly larger heavy duty one.
14.Replaced the ht leads for Magnecore leads. ( had a little bit of trouble with arching as the dizzy runs so close to the metal intercooler pipe so insulated the intercooler pipe with a large water pipe and now the problem is sorted.
                    15.Got a fresh 12 months mot
                    16.Changed number plates.
                    17.Fitted rear strut brace.

I cant remember if I have forgot anything but if I have I will edit and add later. All the work I have carried out above has been to get the car running well again and it sure is now, but I still have alot to do to the car. Below now is a list of the things I am doing very very soon to upgrade performance and pictures of some of the parts I have bought so far.

I am planning to first upgrade to over 300bhp as the car is not fast enough and I love BOOST!

1,Fit timing belt kit (part bought)
                    2,Fit water pump (part bought)
Also change water and anti freeze
                    3,Change brake fluid (part bought)
4,Fit C20xe inlet cam (part bought)
5,Fit vernier pulley on inlet cam and retard timing back 1/2 tooth, .7 degrees (part bought)

Update FCP steel Conrods and ARP2000 3/8" bolts (parts bought)
(I am considering fitting steel conrods as not sure if standard conrods are up to the job, need to buy some though, any advice on this is appreciated)
7,Fit new alternator belt and power steering belt (parts bought)
8,Uprate the turbo actuator (part bought)
9,Fit adjustable fuel pressure regulator and set pressure at 4.5 bar (part bought)
I also have a fuel rail adaptor for the pressure regulator (part bought)
10,Fit Saab red injectors (part bought)
11,Fit enlarged top hat 3" (part bought)
(I have a machined out tophat but am going to source a 3" one as will be much better.
12.Fit ECU which contains EDS 3.5 chips (part bought)
(This should hopefully set the boost to approx 20psi over boost and 18psi held)
Also have a spare standard turbo incase the boost finishes the old one off!
13.Change spark plugs for NGK PFR7B and gap at .7 (part Bought)
14.Fit uprated AFM Boost pipe (part bought)
15.Fit uprated fuel pump 255 lph (part bought)
16.Fit ducting to air filter (part bought)
17.Fit Wideband air/fuel gauge and sensor (part needed)
(This is to check the car is fueling correctly, was a bit worried about the car running lean!
18.Fit a front strut brace (part bought)
19.Fit new header tank water bottle (part needed)

24.Mondeo master cylinder mod? (part needed)
25.Rear strut brace (part bought and fitted)

27.Fit bucket seats and harnesses and strip some interior (part bought)
28.Cool running thermostat 82 degrees (part bought)

Them first points you posted, I actually remember them being on my list of things to do. Glad you got them sorted. The engine milage was the same as the milage on the clocks which was around 70000 when I sold it iirc. It came out of a calibra with FSH and which was well looked after prior to the guy sticking it in a hedge.

Loved this when Lee had it and I'm impressed with what you've done so far and your plans! Looks like it's in good hands! Hopefully see it at some shows

Always loved this car, read Lee's diary a few times - good to see it back so we can see more progress
