Purchased a few intake mods tonight

Intake pipe that feeds from the front bumper to the air box. This one is from the 160Bhp Cupra TDi model and a direct fit.
Expensive though but keeps it OEM and should mean improved turbo whoosh noises and less smoke when it's remapped.

Green cotton air filter as well.

Normal air feed pipe vs the Cupra one.

Yeah the price for the pipe is too much really, but bugger it. Hope it's worth it.

I think for the handling i'll go with OMP upper and lower front strut braces and adjustable whiteline ARB for the rear.
Should improve the already good handling without changing the ride height or stiffness. Already reasonably stiff as standard to be honest.

          Some goodies arrived today

Cupra PD160 cold air feed pipe and plastic boot liner. I do a lot of camping so ideal when wet dirty stuff ends up in the boot

Standard, restrictive PD130 air feed pipe

          Two air feeds together

          New air feed fitted

The engine noise is slightly louder. Can hear the diesel growl more at low revs and a bit more turbo whistle. Seems to pull the same, but i imagine it will give more gains once remapped.

Nice Tam, Does the airbox have the two tube set up. Inlet / outlet like the vauxhalls and fords?

            If so you removing them?

            Again Nice Tam

              Cheers Tanktop.

I don't think it does, but as soon as the green cotton filter arrives i'll have a proper look inside the airbox and see what's what. Hopefully have that fitted on Tuesday. Loving the turbo whistle now at low revs. Be loving it a lot more when exhaust and remap are done early next year.
Will have a few small other changes before then though

Between the filter and the bigger air feed pipe it feels like it pulls a little larger when the turbo spools up, but it might just be a placebo.
Sounds much nicer now though listening to the turbo spooling up and down. Can't wait for the exhaust and remap!

Exactly my thinking, want to make sure that it isn't going to damage my car as it is my daily and have to commute 80 miles a day with it

Just got a quote back from the lad that made me the stainless exhaust for the Corsa.

                            Standard exhaust is 2.25inch, 1 x cat and 2 x silencers.
New exhaust - Turbo back 2.5inch, de-cat, straight through centre section and performance backbox with similar look as standard.
                            Should reduce lag a little

Some other OEM style mods on route as well.

Tested the acceleration between this and my friend's 1.9 JTD diesel Alfa 156 estate. His is rated at 140bhp but there was quite a difference still with the Ibiza being the quicker one with much less smoke.

Updated first page with current and planned mods.

Ordered new bulbs the other night as well but waiting to arrive

Boot tray arrived so got that fitted and still waiting on black tailored floor mats
Boot tray is the same as this so a bit more storage space

That boot tray looks like a handy piece of kit, do you know if they do them for Corsas?
