  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] Project Brocade Yellow II.5 - RESTORATION

Evening all, started stipping the front end of my battered Brocade 1.6 Sport today. This thread will forrow it's rebuild and restoration to former glory. Can't let a decent car like that die now can we!?

Pictures are currently on the camera i left at my sisters house, the only thing I currently have to show you is a rather comical video of some of the damage, this is currently uploading. So in an hour or so I'll post that on here.

For now though, watch this space.

I dont think the time at work will be available this time anyway, managers are in and out of hospital, kinda screwing with the rotas at the moment. I'm off work for 3 weeks (now 2.5 weeks but yeh) im hoping a lot of it can be done by the end of my holiday. The video im about to post will show youone of the more major problems. I love the challenge, and I'm well up for it, even though I'm working alone and corsas are the only cars i've ever worked on, little experience but a fair bit of knowledge. And this wonderful forum of course should help.

Thanks mate, I would love to be at trax, can't quite see it happening but who knows how it will all pan out.

Anyhoo, heres the video, pretty self explanatory - [IMG]http://www.allcorsa.co.uk/forums/ima...sc/film_go.png">

jesus ****ing christ at that driveshaft!!

get yourself down to a scrappy and strip the bits off another one?

If that's the long shaft, which i think it is, iv got the one of my 12v sitting here, not sure if it'll be any use to you mate, but let me know and I'll give you mates rates before it goes on the 'bay =]

thanks! I hope it's easy too but there's a few probs to overcome before the easy stuff comes along.

Haha, yeh I actually just laughed out loud at it as I started it up... Was a bit of a shock but half expected it at the same time... Thanks for the offer. As much as I'm aware I think the sport driveshafts are slightly bigger. I'm thinking of buying a complete 1.6 hub/cv/driveshaft/caliper assembly. Seems easiest. Plus it's only ?20 ish delivered. Seemed cheap. Lol

mate, if i were local i would be more then happy to lend a hand, it would seem that driveshafts and hub assemblies are my new chosen subject, given that that is all I've worked on for a ****ing month =|

*EDIT* I'll see if any of the 1.6 driveshafts i were watching on ebay for my car are still going*

Sorry mark, just come back upstairs and you signed out. Lol. Don't think theres much that im able to do without having new parts here to swap over, i'll get buying tomorrow morning but dont think they can be here for monday... Which kinda sucks. Will text you tomorrow anyway.

haha, hows your conversion going anyway? Bet your glad you didnt wait for me to sell my driveshafts now aren't you, lol... Again cheers for the help offer, appreciate the thought. It's kinda a shame that mark's the closest member to me and even he's 50minute drive away. I'm sure it won't be too hard once i've got the new parts infront of me and that... Just a pain in the ass i reckon.

                          Cheers, dave
