  • [Corsa B 1993-2000] Blue Turbo Corsa Sport

I'm starting this thread well in advance of my future plans because otherwise I won't get around to it.

When I bought my corsa it was a standard Corsa Sport with 53,000 miles on the clock. It did have service history but the lad I bought it off lost it.

The mods at the time were: a k&n panel filter, gsi kit, MHW rear lights, Irmscher headlight covers, Irmscher steering wheel, colourcoded centre dash, and lowered on -40mm springs.

After driving about 10miles from picking it up I heard a loud bang. Got outside the car to find I'd had a blowout. So ?120 later I had 4 new tyres on it.

Next thing to go was the suspension. I replaced it with a full set of FK Highsport coilovers. The handling and ride quality was a vast improvement over how I had bought it.

Next up I replaced the orange side repeaters with a set of smoked ones.

I then decided to throw a few ? at the car and ordered a set of smoked headlights, a Mantzel airbox, a decat pipe, a Protech stainless exhaust manifold.

I set about fitting everything apart from the Mantzel.

When I fitted the Protech manifold I also did away with the secondary air pump and it's piping as it was only getting in the way.

After a few hundred miles with the Protech manifold on I decided that the raspy sound wasn't for me. So off came the Protech and on went my Standard exhaust manifold. I also sold the decat pipe to Lee_H and ordered another but with a silencer on.

At this time I was running short of cash and my holiday was looming so unfortunately I had to sell the Mantzel before I even had chance to fit it.

All was fine for a few weeks then some little scrote decided they wanted to break into my car. They bent the drivers door back and had a go at the door lock but strangely didn't get into the car.

I spent a few weeks sourcing a decent door and went about swapping all my door internals into the new door and then fitting it to my car. Was a really easy job in the end, just time consuming. These are the only pics I have of it:

I also decided to have a crack at driling my airbox, the tutorial and pics can be found Here.

Over the recent months I've had a fair bit of damage inflicted on my car. Starting with a few large scratches and one of my sideskirts being ripped off by a garage who were fixing my clutch. They kindly decided to stick a big screw through the sideskirt and into the wing to hold it back in place.

Next was a little lad was playing near my car and decided it would be a great idea to scratch a deep line into my boot.

Then most recently a woman who had just passed her test came around the corner too fast, hit the curb, went over the road into a car, then into my front bumper.

So..... my next job is to take off all the bodykit, arches bumpers etc, check to see the condition of the bodywork underneath it all, repair any rust if there is any, then refit it all and wait until I can afford a respray.

I will update this thread as I go along.

Thought it was about time I got my finger out and put up a project thread as I've loads to do to my car and I always enjoy a read of other people's projects.

I'm taking it one step at a time with it, that's why there was no mention of an LET or new alloys etc.

I hope to, but it's quite a way off if I do. I need to sort out my career first, then all that sort of stuff comes next.

Either way I hope to keep this car for a good few years and I'm more than happy with it bodywork wise so engine is the next step.

Good project thread. Bet its a bit gutting when you have to spend your money on repairing what other people do instead of buying the things you wanted to do.

Yep, it's really annoying. Luckily the woman who crashed into my front bumper paid for the damage.

I will eventually get it how I want it but for now it's ok.

It looks really good lee, only thing that doesnt do it for me are the colourcoded interior bits, Silver or black is the best way to go for interior stuff in my opinion.

I just got fed up of the raspy noise of the protech. I prefer a nice smooth deep sound which is what it's like now.
