Hahaa I sure was pal! Did the engine come with absolutely everything or do you have a fair bit to buy still?

The engine came with pretty much everything, other than driveshafts, so I'm not sure if I'll have to buy new hubs depending on how big the 1.8t shafts are mate

Not too sad. How will the current suspension and brakes hold up to the new engine?

Looks good mate! No hanging about. Probably best to get a walbro pump as that will support any future mods. For those shafts and brakes does it come with the hub or can you use the standards?

She's in, we tryed using the 1.6 wiring loom, Had no idea why everyone was 100% sure it was going to work and didn't need to plumb in the 1.8t wiring loom.. totally different plugs The new engine came with the Pickup ring, Immobliser box and the new key - all you have to with the key is split it so the fob on the old key blade.. but ran into a problem the immobliser light wont go off cutting all power to the car and only letting it turn over.. BUT when the 1.6 ECU is plugged in it works? this is with the 1.6 loom though.. so my guess is that that 1.8T loom HAS to go in no matter what.. because everything is different on the engine i.e plugs...

Here's what happening a brief idea in my head anyway

                              -Ecu sending single
                              -car reading the single
-car not sending back the single to the ECU

                              right or wrong?

anyway here are some pictures to brighten the day

This is what my front garden looked like! jesus the new local garage!
