  • [Traitor Car] Project: Premium Only.

I thought I would share my toy on here. Since Project: Mail Order Bride wont happen till next year, figured id put this here in the meantime. Its a UCF10, my daily driver. Slowly turning it into a sleeper. Today I went and had a temporary exhaust made up for it. from the manifolds back is all brand new, x-pipe, true duals, down to two mufflers. I cut out 2 Y-pipes, 2 resonators, a catalytic, and 2 mufflers to make what I have now. Will get pics of the exhaust tomorrow. but now, details on the car.

165k on it. '93 LS400. 6 cd, leather, dual 8 way seats, sun roof, console phone, sport, ESC, Tac, EMAS, all the goodies.

Future plans for it: Twin T4s, E85, RX7 turbo injectors, Megasquirt 3, and hopefully I wont have to modify the transmission, but if I eat my trans ill move to a 4L80E.

I call it Premium Only because thats what I tell inferior cars when they try to race me, their low grade cars will harm her when she eats them.

plans sound good but why twin t4's? and rx7 injectors are old school, theres better cheaper aftermarket ones around. and if your going onto e85 rexy ones dont flow enough. as for ms3, its not bad on $100 engines but for what your doing, you need something better. seak to a local dyno and see what they reccomend. alot of mappers wont map ms. and if you build the a340e with 1jz a340e parts it should be fine upto 600bhp. over that with a fat chunk of torque, id look at this:

    700R4 SS Xtreme Performance Transmission 2WD Non-Lockup

the only issue is, your cars ecu does both the engine and trans, so an after market ecu is needed. i dont rate the 4l60/65/80 series. too many failures even when built.

Well the MS3 I sourced is a whole 'nother beast. This place DIY auto tune is going to custom build me a setup for almost $1000usd. but my trans would still run the same because its a piggy back, not going full stand alone, its not needed until I break 18psi.

The RX7 injectors will work but just barely. I have to change the resistance of my system to run them and I can get 8 of them for $250usd. As far as ive found, there really isnt much other injector options that will fit on my car. But if you know of some, I am always willing to look into them!

The trans in my car is a A341E with a lockup on it. its a little better than the 340E, but not by much. it will hold 450rwhp pretty well. beyond that im SOL or I have to build it up. I would do a 5 speed swap but its just too much work...

Now the T4. the twin T4 is because I can find T4s easily, and I can run them up to 700rwhp if need be. twins on 15psi is plenty for me to do some serious damage to peoples egos around here lol i live in Ricer country. Hondas modded out the rear end here

so the ms3 will control the tranny? i didnt realise mega squirt was at that level.
keep an eye on the duty cycle of the rexy injectors. ive heard of them hitting 100% duty cycle and running lean. ill ask a guy i know about injectors, he runs a s/c 1uz. also add in an ultrasonic clean and new filter baskets etc. theres 200 bux....

only other cheap trans option is a mild 'glide. but then its 2 speed and really only good for drags...

t4's were a good turbo. be aware the tech is over 30 years old. and tbh there are better turbos out there. if it was me id look at using one of these:

Godspeed T3 GT3582R Ported Shroud Anti Surge 600HP GT35 Turbo turbocharger GSP | eBay

or try to find one with a 1.08 a/r. far better compressor map for what you want, less likely to have boost issues, i.e spikes surge etc. and cheap.

fuel pumps im using a deaschwerks 240, youll need two 400's, plus 10mm line.

i know about ricers, and pushrod v8 fans. i live in australia.....

The MS wont control my tranny thats why I had to get the MS3 as a piggy back, but im going with a MAP-ECU3 instead, did a bunch of searching yesterday and for $700 I can get so much more options on the MAP. If I went full standalone, I would need two because the TRAC and ESC are part of my trans' connection to the ECU, so I would need to run two separate ones which would be too much money. thats why this car wont ever break 18psi because Im not going full stand alone with 1000cc injectors and all that.

As far as the injectors, im probably going to just order some 550cc from Lextreme, that way I know they can go right in. I have concerns about the injector impedance and all that.

Funny that you mention the GT35 because yesterday my buddies and I were BS-in about turbos and I ended up picking this one out (until I find a better one) GT35 GT3582 T3 AR 70 5 Bolt Turbo turbocharger 500 HP Compressor Boost Upgrade | eBay

The AR could be larger, but with a stock fuel system (the LS400 can handle it unless I get up past 550cc....) I have concerns about the fuel mapping being a problem until I switch it all to the E85.

I sat down and totalled it all up while I was at work (I get a lot of downtime...) and im at $3800 for all my parts and shipping. Then I would need my oil pan tapped, and the FMIC piping welded and the car tuned. The exhaust is going to be rerouted as a fender dump and be done. lucky for me thats legal here

I have a lot of small things I have to hammer out (like ditching the crappy MAF for speed density) but I set my max budget at $5k but I cant really tear into the turbo stuff until I buy my other car. Luckily my buddy knows good places for welding and stuff to be done super dirt cheap. He got his IC piping and a custom catch can all made for $300 in stainless. Hopefully I can score the same deal

honestly, **** the trac and esc off, dont use a piggyback and go standalone. ms3 as a piggyback will work but not to its full potential. it will work out cheaper, especially if you decide in a year to go to a bigger turbo. plus the trac and esc wont cope with the bosst and will constantly be activating making it kangaroo. see it on soarers a lot. having spoke to my mate, he ran rexy injectors but ran out of duty cycle real fast. hes now on 800cc ones. ill ask where from.

Updating this. Listed the car for sale, typical tire kicking crap, so I removed it and I did a full tune up and my MPG jumped, and the power increased and I fell in love with her again. So I went and had some exhaust work done, painted the wheels, all kinds of little things here and there.

Here is a video of how she sounds as of right now:

Thanks! lol im getting a lot of crap from the lexus guys because it "sounds like an old camaro and not the smooth japanese V8 that it is"... I think its better than the $5,000 Junction Produce ricer exhaust they get lol

so latest updates.. been MIA for a bit. moving twice in less than a month - it sucks. but I bought new injectors, and an ECU - injectors are in the process of being put in, waiting on some gasket kits I ordered, and then a bunch of other stuff will be here within the next few days. Tune up kit so all new plugs, wires, distributor caps, rotors, and then the injectors, cleaned and ported intake, cleaned throttle body WAS CAKED!, new ECT sensor, new intake piping, and then the ECU goes in and she gets tuned.

Been slammed on some Tanabe DF210s for a while now too. snow plowin it around town lol

holy updates batman. So. Put in 315cc injectors. Put in the piggyback and then ****ed it off. Controls werent very good. I was able to remove the rev limit and speed limiter and snapped my timing belt at 8k rpm doing a burnout. a lot more work was done. Running E85 now. I built all new exhaust in 3" that dumps out the hood. Will be doing a single Zeta 3.2 turbo now - got a great deal on a custom built one. MS3X - a friend in the UK builds 1uzs and have them running tops. Ben Newell if anyone knows him, great bloke.

Important part is everyone wants to see hood dump E85 fireballs.

Excuse it running like poop, its untuned on the stock ECU currently. Once Ben hooks it up I will be layin down some dang good power.
