  • [Traitor Car] Honda Accord CH1 Type R

    Hi All,

Due to popular demand, here is a project thread of my latest motor.

A brief bit of history for those that don't know me, I started my modifying journey with the best car I've ever owned; a Corsa B 1.2 8v Merit 5 Door:

After this, I craved more speed and a bit more choice of modifications. Thus, the jump to Honda was made in the form of a Civic EJ2 which underwent EXTENSIVE changes in my ownership including an engine conversion (b000st):

So you've now sold the ej2?

I have enquired about it before, seems very hush hush.
I know something went wrong, the bits I do know, I get it. Just asking if you still have it though

The EJ2 has indeed gone! We parted on good terms in the end but the 3-4 months prior were absolute hell and cost me an absolute fortune. (I'm sure you can relate to that!)

Very nice, it's no secret I still love these. Have you got a full picture of the engine bay?

It's no secret that it was gone. Would have gladly told you if you had asked

Thanks! Now the weather is improving I'm sure I'll come out to play a little more.

Thanks Tim! I haven't got one to hand but I'm sure I can get one at some point.

Also for your manifold I recommend vtex direct or solid fabrications (both have good experience with the ATR). I also recommend a short shifter.

If you go down the remap route lowering VTEC is beneficial.

Exactly the 2 places I was considering. Vtec Direct is cheaper but the Solid Fab ones are beautiful! I wasn't a huge fan of the short shifter on my EJ2 but I'll give it some thought.

Cheers for the heads up on a remap, was thinking the same is it comes in quite late on these. The rev limit definitely needs raising too

I absolutely love these honda's they're kinda like the sleeper of the honda world :L

Always wanted one of these or the civic alternative (forgot what model it is but it's another 4 door)

Absolutely right, but strangely enough it was launched as a direct competitor to the Subaru Impreza. Contrary to popular belief the Accord is actually better through the corners too!

                          I think it's the MB6 VTI-S that you're referring to:
