[Corsa B 1993-2000] Project MOK - 1.6 16v Sport

As I mentioned in my previous build thread 'Project Bridget' has been condemned due to serious corrosion on the chassis rails. In light of this I went on the hunt for a new Corsa and spotted Vegas' daily up for sale; needless to say I jumped at the chance to own it (and keep it here on the forum) so on Sunday Vegas delivered the newly dubbed 'Project MOK' to me.

This is the condition she left Vegas and came to me in and, as I'm sure anyone who follows the work Vegas does on his projects, she's in great condition and makes an excellent base for picking up where I'd been forced to leave off on Bridget. The fact that MOK is an upgrade to a 1.6 from Bridget's 1.4 is also a nice bonus!



Needless to say I'm going to take good care of MOK but will most definitely be putting my own stamp on her; starting with transferring over a lot of the modifications over from Bridget to her. As before though the theme of the build will most definitely be 'OEM+'.

I intend to make most of the swaps quite quickly so expect pictures of my progress to go up ASAP.

Glad you're happy mate. One thing I forgot to mention was the EML light. You will see this come on mainly when doing around 60mph. This is due to egr being blanked off, it's completly normal when they're blanked and doesn't changed the way car was driving at all.

My old Corsa did the same thing with the EML light; although only when driven aggressively. The funny thing is I've been making the most of the 1.6 engine and driving quite hard to get a feel for it and have yet to see the EML light come on! Glad to know that if it does pop on now that it'll most likely be the EGR valve and I won't need to waste time stripping things down to track the issue!

Just a quick question; the blue switch on the fuse cover. Was it originally a fan override because it doesn't seem to do anything any more? I'm most likely going to strip it out but I'm just curious. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't cause some James Bond style stuff to happen when I toggled it mind you!

Haha, switch was previous owner. Wiring fell off the back
Of switch when I was investigating it. It was a dan override switch. Didn't have to use it so I just left it not working..

Also forgot to give you a new sump plug, I had one here for when next done oil.

When I changed oil (around 2 months ago) I noticed sump plug was flat on one side, looks like it scraped on a bump, I had no choice but to re-fit it as needed car.

I've got a spare sump plug knocking around here so don't worry about it. Just so you know I've found two screwdrivers, a scart lead, a Haynes manual and 53p in the car so far...
