Tried to do pics again and photobucket keeps failing on the processing part will keep trying until I can get pics on!

I love the astra personally, it feels so much better built than my C, and also feels huge compared to the C, but it's definitely a much better car. The driving position is also much better and is a much nicer place to be

Does it feel much bigger? Due to been so cramped I'm thinking vectra. Estates ...barges ...haha. with sometimes needing to use five seats and often using four although 90% is motorway/single carriageway alone . Would you recommend a diesel astra for a good size and high mike eco/solid car. Or go estate or vectra ?

Sorry for big question so early in thread. Can delete

First time I drove it I noticed how much bigger it feels, there is more leg room in the front and the back, easily enough for a baby seat in the back with plenty of room left. The boot is much bigger than the C too I'll get some decent pics of interior size/space and the boot for you yeah I would recommended an astra as an upgrade from a C, especially in your position, and if you still need more space you could always get an astra estate?

I personally think I like the older shape more, just looks bigger but probably isn't. And these are more expensive.

But its best to get diesels after 2005/06 for reliability right?

I've never considered a D/shape one's as they are naturally more expensive, might be worth considering, almost have my heart set on Vectra's though.

Iain how do you find the power and pick up of speed in the astra?

Shaggy you can get a good 150 bhp diesel 3 door astra for good money now, But vectras have dropped a lot in price too tbh.

It's very different to the C in terms of pickup and speed. The corsa felt fast because of being small and lighter than the astra so I find myself accelerating like in the corsa then realising the speed when I glance at speedo haha, very deceiving

Shaggy - you can get Astras this shape at decent prices now, just keep an eye out as there are bargains out there

Haven't updated for a long time but made some progress with my car.

First of all got some cheap Irmy softstars as temporary wheels

                      Then fitted my JOM coilovers

Then I managed to find some vectra preface lift sri 17s local with good tyres so got them too

And finally a pic I took the other night
