  • Need some advise on towing a car that has an MOT but no tax.

Found a car that i'm interested in buying, just trying to find out if I can legal to tow a car with just an MOT on it?

I've had a search on google and there is alot of people saying you can or you can't. Am I right in thinking it needs to have all 4 wheels off the road?
It'll only being towed a short distance.

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you're happy with it, why not just go and get tax there and then from post office?

I thought all 4 wheels had to be off

I was thinking about doing it that way, only problem is no post offices are open on a Sunday.

Can only be towed on a trailer, unless you know a mate with trade plates?

Don't know anyone with trade plates.

Think I'll speak to the seller and see if I can collect it during the week instead of Sunday. That way I can get it taxed.

I'll have a look but I'm sure all are closed on Sunday.

Think all up here are closed from 12 ok a Saturday onwards

Have you bought the car? Any reason the seller can't tax it for you?

Paid a deposit today. Will see if the seller can tax it for me.
