Idling uses more than you realise - which is why modern cars use start/stop technology. My 2.2 is good on a run and horrendous round town, just because of what it guzzles idling in traffic.

The only way to really measure fuel consumption is to fill the tank, drive until it's getting low, then refill it - and work out the miles done for the fuel used.

Thanks dude. I think I had it on idle for quite a while then. I've stuck 45 in that should do me three days. Will see if it lasts. Think it only uses slightly more then the 1.0

Finest? Do you mean the high octane stuff?

Saying York and back doesn't help as no idea how close you live to there.

Obviously playing guessing games with how much you drove but I've worked that out to about 25mpg

I did a mpg using different fuels on other site (Using my 1.2 corsa c), but lost it before I could move it on to here.

But the 1.2 corsa is not as good as made out to be on MPG, I did a run on a full tank of fuel from A50 esso petrol station to bradford just off the M606 and back a total of 199.8 miles to look back at fuel gauge just moving to 1/2 a tank so.

Cost of fuel 52 pounds fuel light was flashing so running on vapours

                      199.8 miles covered

                      mpg is around 24.45

Ok so I've used 35.90L to do 317miles. I divided it up but that's a fail as that's miles per litre. Does this sound right?

I'll try convert this to gallons on phone but no idea what a gallon looks like tbh.

This was standard Morrison's fuel and used 50miles town driving and the remainder was 60-70mph with some town driving at each end.

I've refilled with shell V+ or whatever it's called and will repeat the process. Hopefully the fuel will help clean the car a little or should I just use FedEx?

I calculated 40mpg. Not really good for the way it was driven.
