You may have some come back on this depending on a few things.
Does the garage make a business out of selling cars or was it a one off?
What Cat write off was the car you bought (A, B, C, D ect)

It was a garage what buy and sell Cars, on the receipt I got there is a box saying something along the lines off "I, the car trader have done the relevant checks of the Cars history and if the odometer reading is correct" and they have to sign it but he hasn't :/ also it doesn't say what category it is

If the garage were aware of it being a write off previously and never informed you of it, then they're in the wrong IIRC
If they had no prior knowledge though "i think" they have done nothing wrong.

If it's been a Cat A or B it shouldn't be back on the road. Cat C or D is moderate to minor damage and fine to drive again after repairs.

You've got come back with the garage. They have to inform you of any previous write offs. Don't go in all guns blazing though, explain the situation and that you bought the car in good faith but have now found out it was a previous write off. How would they like to deal with this?

You have to go to court and explain to the court how you have lost out.

Best case is garage offering totals the car back or offer a refund of a percentage.

The thing is, the car looks fine and i checked all engine bay to look for any signs of new parts or work been done to it and it all looks as it should, the Cars mileage all checks out and it was tested by the same garage since new so everything seems legit just the hpi says it was a insurance right off :/

That just means whatever the damage was done to it, wasn't worth the insurance paying out on. You can have a car wrote off for only getting a scratched bumper or dented wing on some cars
