Because living in the north there will inevitably be snow this winter, and the E63 will not move then due to a combination of rear wheel drive and very wide tyres, high power (557hp), automatic gearbox e.t.c. - and if the car does move then the risk of some other numpty sliding into it is too high. Unfortunately the E63 is a nuisance in the wet let alone snow or ice.

Sometimes being in the right place at the right time can pay dividends as I paid 59k rather than 75k. I appreciate that is still a lot of money, but it is worth every penny

Being quite old I do not know how to upload a photograph from my computer, a similar problem with all of the Forums I am involved with. I can copy a photograph that is already uploaded so here is a link to one on the Mercedes website that is identical to mine:

Thank you. This is just one of the benefits of my five sons all leaving home and the recent divorce from a high maintenance wife

Yes it is, but it does cover the last 30 years - and I have not finished yet

I often think of how much better off I would be if I had only bought the cars I needed rather than the cars I wanted. I suppose this is the price I have to pay for being a bloke who likes cars, but at least cars are my only vice. Three of my sons are already following in my foot steps having owned quite a number of cars between them, all of which are either modified or performance cars.

You may have been better off, but what's the point if you're not enjoying it? It's an expensive hobby, but a good one all the same.

So,at the weekend I took the Corsa Black Edition on a spin from Teesside down to Brighton, and I ended up buying this:

2005 Jaguar XKR 4.2 for about the same price as a new Corsa VXR. As I have said before the Corsa Black Edition will be staying with me as my daily drive - and it did pretty well at the weekend.
