I agree with this in one way, primarily diesel fumes do cause lung cancer, emit loads of soot and are just dirty.
However what pisses me off is the 'tax diesel more', how about offerng tax breaks on petrols instead. Typical 'we'll demonise something until we can tax it more to get more tax'
