  • Spanner size help

I need a spanner somewhere between 6mm and 7mm. I know half sizes can be bought online, but are there any imperial sizes close to needed size?

Guide charts online seem to be useless

    1/4" is 6.35mm

Does it have to be a spanner and not a socket?

I'd have thought your big Halfords tool set would have some imperial sockets? I know you're not daft enough to have overseen that though.

You can get a 100mm adjustable that will do 1-15mm.

Needs to be very small lee, it's to do a bleed nipple. Shape of caliper means can't use anything too big, and socket means I can't put a tube for fluid on it

It's about 10cm the one I use for work.

Buy a tiny asjustable and we'll angle grind the outside of it's jaws down to fit in the gap in the caliper?

Alternatively, if you've got a 1/4" drive 1/4" socket then we can grind two flats on the outside of the socket (providing you dont want this socket again, lol) then we can put the socket over the bleed nipple, hold the two flats that we grinded into it with a normal adjustable wrench, then put the hose on the nipple through the hole in the end of the socket.

                        Genius.

I like angle grinding. I even did it to my floor tiles.
