  • Go karting

Went go karting today; pissing down rain, cold, mud on the track but one of the best days out I've had.

Took a lot of skill to keep the car going in a straight line, back end would come out under heavy braking or if you put the power down to early. Most of the time I spent wrestling the car to get it round the track.

However as I spent so much time on the edge I did spin it a few times which unfortunately put me down into 8th , if it wasn't for the crashing I could've won ha

Anyway it's a great day out, we should organise a the corsa one.

Love go karting. Used to go about once a month in Uni. Got pretty good tbh, we'd dominate the days best laps most times.

Used to really enjoy it but last time i bruised all my ribs and that sucked.
Was leaning into the plastic bucket seat too much in the corners and with the cart starting to bounce as it was on the verge of losing grip it dug right in.
Wasn't even sore until the next day then couldn't laugh or cough for a few weeks without shedding a tear.

I find them a bit boring now though that i've started driving. I'd enjoy them more if they had gears i think. Ones up my end don;t

I've never driven them in the dry, the fact the track was soaking made it a lot more interesting. Constant corrections needed, balancing the power to get it out fast, finding the best line (this included hitting a puddle so I spent every lap soaking myself) and then trying to overtake (which you couldn't just go down the inside as it would cause you to spin)
