    Evo 9 FQ320

Picked the new motor up today.

It turned out it wasn't exactly as 'clean' as the guy stated. It's by no means a shed, it just needs a few bits and bobs doing to the paintwork.

Although it's HPI clear, it appears the rear passenger door has had a flash over in the past (it looks like for a carpark dent), and they've done a fairly poor job of blending it in, and also the driver door near the lock has been keyed at some point, and although the finish is good, they've not filled in the scratch for some reason.

Apart from that it has the usual stonechips, and the odd scratch, so I'm already planning to get the full bottom half of the car flashed over properly so it looks mint in the summer.

The interior is absolutely immaculate, and it drives like new. Weirdly though, it doesn't feel a whole lot faster than the corsa, but I'm presuming it's because it's far smoother to drive.

I got bummed with insurance though, Admiral quoted me ?1096 fully comp with protected NCB, so I rang them to take them up on the offer, and they added an extra ?800 on for direct debit.

I had no choice as I needed to get it insured to get home, so I'm cancelling it next week and trying somewhere else, robbing *******s.

tbh Lee I bet you dont think its fast for the first few weeks of ownership, I never did when I got my car after the corsa. But its when you learn the exact point you can change gear and how you can go round a corner twice as fast as you used to be able to does you start to notice just how quick the car is. And I'm saying this knowing your car is twice the car mine is.

Anyway 800 for DD how do they work that one out?

    It's because they're robbing ******s.

I've got a few other companies to ring through the week, but failing that I'll have to just put up with it.

My first purchase for the car other than security will be a carbon vortex generator. I love them.

Loving the Evo , Heres a tip Lee, put a Female on the insurance, and then go to a All Womens Insurance Company , bet u'd get that for around 500-600 a year if there was a Female driver on the insurance as well (doesnt even matter if they never drive it ever!!!)

    Anyways, LOVE It !!!

My missus is going nowhere near it, both on paperwork and driving. She'll get in the passenger seat and that's it.

She tested the water last night by asking to be put on the insurance. Luckily she was just winding me up.

Nice motor , keep us updated as you get the carbon goodies going!

Oh and by the way, there are some good female drivers out there, and just like blokes there are some shocking ones. Cant generalise realy on gender..........
