    What would you do?

This hasn't happened, was just in a conversation about it.

You've just bought something of great expense, you couldn't afford another as you had been saving up for ages for it. Can be anything, new mobile phone set of wheels whatever you like.

Your mum/dad picks it up, without being told to and drops it.
    Completely rendering it useless.

    Do
You charge them, or take the hit?

No nice answers, what would you ACTUALLY do?

Wouldnt just let it go, would let them know that It cost a load and took ages to save for.

Ideally they would sort it out / or you have insurance.

I'd expect them to replace it. Thinking of it the other way around, if you break something of someone else's you replace it.

I'd probably say not to worry about it, they spent enough bringing me up (and die a little inside).

I'd be gutted and they'd probably know that. If they could afford to replace it without much trouble i'd be annoyed if they never, but not enough to say or do anything about it. If it would cause them too much trouble to get another then i'd just let it go and move on.

Wouldn't matter how much i saved up personally, i'd forgive them and let it drop. Both my parents are unemployed and i do alright with my job, but even if i never they've done enough for me throughout my life to be forgiven and for me to move on.

I think it's hard to say unless you're actually there in the situation. Part of me would like to think I'd ask them to replace it, but I know when it came down to it I'd just take the hit.
Although when Laura whipped me with my headphones and they snapped, I made her buy me some more.

I would make them pay my insurance excess and replace it.
My little one dropped my nexus whilst messing about, completely smashe it and it won't work. Made him sit on the naughty step whilst I phoned the insurance company. If it had been a complete accident I wouldn't of even said anything but the lesson he had to learn was to do as he is told.

Accidents happen though, which is why we pay insurance.
