    How-To: Find EML error codes.

    You will need:

    Your car keys
    pen and paper

Step one: Before putting your key in the ignition press fully down on the accelerator and the brake pedal.

Step two: Keeping your feet on the pedals put the key in the ignition and turn to the second position when all the lights on the dash turn on, radio etc, do not take your feet off the pedals until all steps completed.

Step three: Watch for the service light (the one with the car and spanner) it should start flashing, the flashing represents the numbers for the codes you are looking for. 0 is represented by 10 flashes, 1-9 is represented by 1 flash 2 flashes 3 flashes etc, after every number the light will go off for a second of two to let you know it is going to go onto the next number. Wait until you have all four numbers you need for the code.

Step four: Wait for a few seconds as the light may start to flash again which means that you have another error code.

That is it, pretty simple and saves you a lot of money if it turns out to be something basic that can be fixed by yourself.

It will probably need the codes cleared from the ECU
