    To all Traitor car owners'...

Would you ever consider going back to a corsa?

With starting a family, I went for a larger hatchback and I found it much more practical than a corsa. But with plans to expand the family and the Mrs will be doing most of the driving, we'll be getting a car that she feels comfortable in, which leaves me with the option of getting something else.

I would definitely go back, but get a 1.8 SRi C or 1.6t SRi D.

    Any body else?

As a second car in the house yeah absolutely. Just can't afford anything newer than her shed of a Ford Puma at the minute though.

I like the idea of a highly modded corsa vxr, witha lot more power... but still not sure i'd go back to FWD if im honest...

I've never had RWD so have nothing to compare to in that sense but one with crazy power would be nice. Insurance on an SRi is cheaper than the focus!

We got sick of the bills from the golf and went back to a 1.4 corsa, by all accounts she's bored of it after 6 months

I'd have another. Would be either a C20XE/LET B as a toy, or a D SRi/VXR if it was everyday.

    I have a 52 plate audi a4 estate 1.9tdi
It's a fantastic car. Confutable, reliable, practical, pretty fast.
Would i have another Corsa b?
Hell yeah. They were great to drive. Don't think I will ever have as much fun as i did in the Corsa.

I'd only have another to run it into the ground as a cheap runabout Anymore than 800 and i'd rather get a different type of car.

Two answers to this: (though the 2nd answer is a multiple choice!)

    1. I have been helping a neighbour with her 1996 B which has done 37k and spends most if its life sat in her garage. She wants to give it to me - but so long as she can drive herself to the shops and back it's her means of independence, so I just like to keep an eye on it and make sure she's safe. But if she stops driving I'll buy it off her, strip it to sort out their usual corrosion issues, and then put it all back together again.

    2. Our 2001 Vectra 2.2 has been superbly reliable but it's getting to the stage where I don't want to start spending money on it. If it needs much spent to get it MOT'd then I'll seriously consider something smaller as we don't tow a caravan anymore. I need to tow boats, but racing dinghies tend to lightweight! The biggest issue is transporting rolled sailed and masts - and I used to do that in my old Corsa B no problems (the joys of a sunroof!) I have a budget of about 10k - but may choose not to spend it all. So the current option are:

A.) Spend less and get a good late model Corsa C - which I quite like. I'd be very picky if I went down this route.
B.) Or I can get a new model Meriva for about 8k - the plus side is load capacity and versatility, and they look good - but they only come as a 1.4? I'm not a speed merchant but there are times you need a bit of acceleration.
C.) Or for a bit less I can buy Corsa D (which the Meriva is based on of course) - but to be honest I just don't really like them.
D.) Or possibly an Astra? It would have to be an estate.

Hopefully the Vectra will get through the MOT. There's nothing much wrong with it - it could last for years, but that might mean starting to spend on it and I'm a bit reluctant to start putting money into an old high mileage car when I could put it towards something more economical.

Reads a bit James Mayish doesn't it?

Late model C would be tempting for me.

I have an early C, I like it. Will most likely be getting another one day probably a late C and put a LET in it.

I like how cheap they are, and personally I wouldn't buy a D as the roof sits too low and being tall I don't have much visibility

Taurus, the new merivas have 1.4, 1.4 turbo and a 1.6 turbo in the petrol range.

when I next buy a car, it'll be much better because I won't be in a rush because the other car died. So I will be looking and choosing wisely. A turbo'd 1.8 Sri C is something I'd like, or the D Sri. I have looked at a fiesta or polo, but neither really appeal to me.
